With just 26 days left to the Presidential elections, candidates continue to traverse the country promising voters’ heaven on earth. Today, the National Resistance Movement, NRM party candidate Yoweri Kaguta Museveni campaigned in Tooro.
Museveni held rallies in Kyenjojo District with his first rally in Mwenge North, second rally in Mwenge South and concluded the day in Mwenge Central. Meanwhile, Col. Dr. Kiiza Besigye of the Forum for Democratic change traversed parts of Lwamata in Kiboga district.
Besigye addressed voters about equal opportunities and shared prosperity. On the other hand, Hon. Amama Mbabazi of Go forward took his campaign to Bushenyi, Mitooma, and Rukungiri. Mbabazi yesterday campaigned in Sheema where he spoke on SACCOs and the problems with the current model.
Peoples’ Development Party, PDP leader Dr. Abed Bwanika campaigned in Masaka and Lwengo Districts in Central Uganda. While there, Bwanika had this to say; “The ruins of Kabuki Coffee processing plant, Buddu county, Masaka district.
The life of people in Buddu worsened right from the collapse of their cooperatives and coffee processing industries under the NRM government. The collapse of Kabuki coffee processing plant left many unemployed; many children dropped out of schools due to lack of fees; and this led to the general collapse of Buddu.
My plans are to restore cooperatives and give out free good quality coffee to restore coffee plantations in the area.” Independent candidate Prof. Venansius Baryamureeba today took to Nakasongora and Luweero.
