Uganda will this week host presidents of two major global powers, of South Korea and Turkey who will arrive 28th May and 31st May 2016 respectively.

“President Yoweri Museveni will hold bilateral talks with the two leaders that will lead to boosting of relations between Uganda and their countries.”

State house indicates that the South Korean President, H.E. Park Guen-hye is expected to arrive with a huge business delegation with representatives of at least 100 Korean companies.

She will be the first leader of South Korea to visit Uganda. South Korea is home to a few global companies including Samsung, Hyundai, Posco, KIA.

The Turkish President, H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdogan will also arrive with a business delegation of representatives of Turkish companies seeking business opportunities in Uganda.

He will depart on 1st June. Turkey has an official policy of ‘Opening up to Africa’ based on political and economic cooperation.

Both South Korea and Turkey have business ties in Uganda through the Uganda National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UNCCI).
