Police has heavily deployed in Kabale as opposition strong man Col. Dr. Kiiza Besigye appears before Agatonica Mbabazi of the chief Magistrate's court for inciting violence.

Dr. Besigye is appearing alongside his partners in the crime, Elias Lukwago, the Kampala Lord mayor, Hon. Mubaraka Munyagwa, the Kawempe South MP, his Hon. Roland Kaginda,  Ingrid Turinawe, the FDC women league chairperson, Rukungiri Municipality MP and the  Western Regional Forum for Democratic party Chairperson, Imam Makumbi.

These are accused of inciting violence during their rally in Kabale Municipality stadium four years ago.

Prosecution alleges that Besigye and his counterparts injured four police officers and vandalized three police vehicles.

The five are appearing before court this morning after spending a weekend in the western region. On Saturday, Besigye visited Mbarara and Bushenyi before attending a thanks giving Mass at Christ The King Church in Rukungiri on Sunday.

Mass was led by famous FDC Catholic priest Fr. Gaetano Batanyenda. Speaking during the Mass, Besigye told the congregation that imprisonment does not scare him and he will not give up the fight for democracy.

Besigye told Christians that each time he is thrown into prison; he accepts this as part of his life. He also explained that holding a thanksgiving Mass was a move to   thank God for protection.
