The MP of Burahya County in Kabarole district, Margaret Muhanga, has come under fire from her colleagues in a parliamentary committee over the irregular purchase of land belonging to the Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC) in 2011.
Margaret Muhanga, who was then the Kabarole Woman MP, is reported to have bought the land at Shs10.2 billion.Muhanga who happens to be a member of the committee investigating the land deal was asked to leave the committee because she had vested interests. She was later called back in to explain how she acquired the Shs10.2 billion she used to purchase the land.
On return, she asked how she raised that 10 Billion Ugandan Shillings, Margaret said that she sold her goats and cows to raise the money.
However Ugandans on Twitter have reacted to the claims of Margaret Muhanga under the harsh tag #HowMuhangaGot10Bn as they bring various photos of her and the photos of goats which she could have sold to raise the 10Bn. Here are some of the posts.
