Kenya's former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga made a courtesy call to Soroti Municipality Mp and former health minister Captain Mike Mukula congratulating him upon Uganda cranes remarkably representing East Africa at the African Cup of Nations in Gabon.
However, Uganda Cranes lost 1:0 to Egypt a goal that was scored by substitute El Said Abdudalla in the 89th minute of the game. This means Uganda cranes will be the first nation to exit the championship after conceding defeat twice.

The speaker of parliament had earlier met with the cranes team in their camp on Saturday morning awarding them with the two hundred twenty four million five hundred thousand shillings. This was a contribution from the Uganda parliament.MPs salaries were deducted by Shs 500,000 as contribution.
