Alex Luswa Luwemba, also known as Muhammad, was among the people who did not accept their loss in the NUP primaries to Nalukoola.

He went ahead and contested independently. However, things did not go well for him in the Thursday elections.

Alex Luswa polled only 240 votes and emerged fourth in the by-election, losing to NUP's Nalukoola, who polled 17,764.

Luswa conceded defeat through his social media, congratulated Nalukoola, and prayed for better leadership through him.

"Fair Game! God's will has prevailed. Elias Luyimbazi Nalukoola, I wholly congratulate you upon the landslide victory. The winner takes it home, and that's how Democracy works. For the betterment of our constituency, may Allah (swt) guide you in your leadership. Ameen," he wrote on his social media.

Alex Luswa was the political assistant to the late Muhammad Segirinya and believed he could have been given the opportunity to accomplish the late's manifesto.
