He was born as Ashok Benjamin Ogutti by Humphrence Odwori and Florence Odwori from Kisumu, Kenya on 20th of September 1992. Ashok’s parents moved from Kenya to Uganda and settled in Busiro, a village in Namayingo district in Eastern Uganda.

Ashok’s parents then divorced and Ashok’s mum moved to settle in a place called Bugiri still eastern Uganda along with Ashok and the rest of his siblings. Ashok is the last born among the seven siblings however his father bears several children with other women that he kept marrying after the divorce with Ashok’s mum

 Ashok grew up in Bugiri however he went to White Angles Najjanankumbi for his nursery studies in Kampala after which he returned to Bugiri in 2003 for his primary one and two at EL Shaddai primary school. He then joined York primary school in Bugiri where he accomplished his primary studies in 2006. It was during the york times that little Ashok did some song writing getting the knowledge from the multiple songs he crammed in his brain and that he kept singing all the time among which are chameleon’s nekolera Mali, dorotia, Michael ross’ ‘yo the one’ and many more.

Ashok moved to Jinja College in jinja district still eastern Uganda for his secondary studies and  met kagoda hood with whom they formed a duo-dancing group which they named ‘KASH’ got from their names kagoda and Ashok.

The duo won JICO jaba twins in 2008.  It’s while at Jinja College that he started writing songs from sheets of papers to black books. He was later expelled from Jinja College in 2009 and moved to Zion high school in mukono where he accomplished his O’level in 2010.

Ashok continued singing, miming and most of all writing songs all through his academic levels. He from mukono went to Rock high school in Tororo for his high school. Ashok was also in the school basketball team of Jinja College and Rock high school and participated in the national high school basketball Olympics in 2009 and 2011.

He accomplished his high school in 2012 with over 250 songs written in over 5 black books. He then joined Ndejje university Kampala campus doing a bachelor in computer sciences and while here, Ashok teamed up with Geoffrey Tumwiine his childhood friend and old boy from york and pushed on together as artiste and manager. 

Its here that Ashok visited a recording studio for the first time and recorded his first single ‘BAGAMBA’ which he randomly chose from the many he had written. The song was recorded from the karma studios .The song is in pursuit and still taking its course
