Muwanga Bashir a.k.a Bashrat was born on 11/February/1998 in Lyantonde District. He studied his Primary level at Lwengo Primary and Secondary at London High School, Kabowa. 

While at London High Sch. in early 2013, Muwanga Bashir took his first step into the music industry as a music writer and then branded himself as Bashrat. As a writer he wrote a number of songs for various musicians. 

In early 2014, Bashrat started doing back ups in Okteev Studios Africa. In late 2014, he started his career as a recording artist under Okteev Studios Africa.

In mid 2015, he was spotted and signed as a promising, talented musician by Manager Yasin of Real Art Music
