Mulaya Benard, better known by his stage name Big Ocean, is a Ugandan musician and songwriter. He was born in Kamuli District, Uganda on 11 August 1996.

Early life

The Last born of seven siblings attended St. Kizito Primary School for his primary, St. James SSS Jinja for his ‘O’ Level and  Central College Kamuli for his ‘A’ Level.

Performing career

Big Ocean started music at school miming and free styling hiphop rhymes, he later went to studio in 2018 and this saw the release of his first studio song titled ‘Tilisituka’ Produced by Busoga’s Sensational Producer and Musician Romeo Beats at D*Tunez. This song went viral and it brought him to limelight. In 2019, He returned to studio and recorded ‘Nkoma’ and ‘Akalimo’.

In 2019, he got a big breakthrough with numerous concert deals that further cemented his place at the top in Busoga region, a position he holds up to now. he predominantly sings in Lusoga and Jamaican Patois.

Big Ocean has maintained his song productions at D*Tunez a studio where he asserts that has built him and given him a future.
