Sserwada David, also known as BingiBingi, was born on February 26, 1994, at Namirembe Hospital in Kampala, Uganda. He was born to the late Musisi William and Margaret Nakato and was the last born of 11 brothers and sisters. BingiBingi hails from Buwalula, Mubende district, in Uganda.
BingiBingi attended Bright Primary School, where he sat his Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) before joining Kiwawu Secondary School for his high school education. However, his education was cut short when he lost both his parents in 2013, at the tender age of 14. With no one to care for him, BingiBingi had to fend for himself and looked for ways to survive.
In 2015, BingiBingi moved to Kampala to search for his aunt, who he hoped would take him in. However, he was informed that she had travelled to London, leaving him homeless and stranded on the streets of Kampala, mostly Nakivubo. After enduring the terrible situation on the streets for one and a half years, he decided to look for his uncle, a mechanical engineer who was then the manager of Speedway Motor Garage on Lubaga Road.
Upon meeting his uncle, BingiBingi was advised to join the garage and train to fix cars. It was at the garage that BingiBingi's love for music was discovered when he was asked to fix a car belonging to Dr Jose Chameleon, a known Ugandan musician. BingiBingi was motivated by the artist's music that was playing in his car and interacted with him. Dr Jose Chameleon advised BingiBingi to pursue his passion, but his uncle was not supportive of the idea.
With his uncle's disapproval, BingiBingi chose to leave the garage and use the savings he had to start a small business that dealt with fresh produce in Owino Market in Kampala to support his music career. In 2018, BingiBingi went to Redemption Studios in Kasubi, which later shifted to Makindye, to record his first song titled "Shakira." He met producer Peterson, who produced and mastered the song.
BingiBingi's hit song "Shakira" opened up doors for him, and he met Mr. Walugembe of Walugembe Computer Center and Club Labamba, located in Namungona, who gave him an opportunity to perform every Wednesday night at the club. During his tours, he met Mr. Kabanda, who asked him to make musical tours performing Dr Jose Chameleon's songs. With Mr. Kabanda's help, BingiBingi met Producer Frank of Frank Records, who produced and mastered his current hit song, "Omuzimu Gwa nankya Part 2"
In addition to his music career, BingiBingi is also involved in theater plays and comedy. His talent has seen him meet key people in the industry like Mr. Harrison Matovu, the CEO of Jesmat Media Services, MC Mariachi, Joanita Kawalya, and MC Pakyao. BingiBingi is not under any management but is actively seeking one to push his career further.
Apart from his music career, BingiBingi is also a farmer and comedian. He is an inspiration to many young people who have faced tough situations in life and shows that with determination and hard work, anything is possible
