Kigozi Shafiq, alias Cash Goodluck is a Ugandan recording artist, singer-songwriter. He was
born on 25 th May 1991 in Maganjo. Raised in Kawempe Division, Kampala a residential and
commercial area of Uganda. He later shifted to Kanyanya village where he lived with his Dad
and his other siblings, Cash was raised in a huge family with so many sisters and brothers
“Being raised in a big family very much taught me how to love and relate with people, I could
easily engage in so many activities. I don’t have fear for people. Challenges my elder siblings
faced groomed a strong man in me, grew knowing the same could happen to me, but the most
important thing was to get ready for such challenges.”
This is where he studied up to Primary (6) six. He got to see his mother again after 7 years, and
that’s the time he joined St Kizito primary school located in Kyankwanzi District in 2003 where
he completed his primary level education.
During his stay at St Kizito, going to Church was mandatory to every student, he joined the
church and school choir as a drummer and at the same time a singer 0n the choir.
When he joined Namagabi Senior Secondary School in 2004, Cash Goodluck was very
influential in Acting, Singing, Dancing and Drumming. In 2006 he joined Makerere Modern
Secondary School in Kikoni where he got himself so much involved into entertainment. In 2007,
Cash Goodluck joined Wakiso Muslim Secondary School, where he wrote his first ever
traditional original composition for his house competitions.
This is where he met colleagues that had interest in music, Mozey currently a writer at Beats
House in Makindye, Joe currently in Dubai and Kessy a singer and song-writer. They formed a
crew called Elites. Cash composed a number of songs, and his first record was in 2008 with one
of the crew members Joe.
After his Senior 6 in 2010, he joined IUIU where he did half of his Degree in Mass
Communication, due to the daily life challenges he went through, Cash Goodluck never managed
to graduate, resorted to hustling from scratch as a singer and a songwriter. Cash came up with an
idea of being a music duo with Joe called the NATIVES and managed to produce a few videos,
No Stress, and Oule remix a song originally done by Kasav.

He later transferred to Kampala University and completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Mass
communication, also recording music as a solo artist.
Cash’s music takes on the Reggae, Afro R&B music style with noticeable influences from Afro
beat, Afro dancehall, Afro Zouk and Afro pop. He is currently signed to Goodluck Music
Entertainment, his own music and marketing brand which he founded in 2015 with a goal of
taking his music career to the next level.
His career as a songwriter began in 2013 where he managed to write a couple of songs for artists
like; Rema Namakula, Brenda Birungi, Butterfly based in Austria, King Saha and many
more….
He started his music career in Kawaala at Life studios with his producer Timothy Muwanguzi
better known as Pro 314, they both shifted to Secret studios owned by one legend Chosen Isaac
where he mastered his writing skills.
Cash Goodluck moved to Southcyde in 2015 where he worked with Producer Imon as a co-
producer and a songwriter, a place where he learnt a few production skills, in 2016 moved to
Savcham records Kapeke camp led by artist NuttyNeithan and Aqsam as the official producer.
Cash Goodluck has been working on his Extended Play (EP) as a solo artist titled Spell Of
Love produced by quite a number of producers. He is also running management at Trueline TL
Servises Uganda Limited as supervisor.
