Atem Manyuon Akuein (born on 25th November 1993) known professionally as D CARGO (Atem cargo)
is a south Sudanese dancehall singer, song writer, rapper & an Electrical engineer currently winding up
his Bachelor of science in electrical engineering at Makerere University Uganda.

He’s mixed, kakwa (mother), and Dinka(father), his father hails from Jonglei state, Twic East county and
the mother hails from central Equatoria, Yei county. Cargo has always expressed comfort with his multi-
ethnic heritage, because he believes he can relate to different cultures.
In 2012 during his Ordinary-level (secondary school days), he realized his song writing and rapping
abilities though he didn’t record any professional song at that time.

In 2015 during his Advanced-level (high school days), he had honed his musical skills and came to terms
with himself and what he wanted to do, he got inspired by Jamaican artists like konshens, busy signal
and vybz kartel, and decided to switch from rap to dancehall music.
In the same year, he went on to record his debut single dubbed, “she is the girl” and at the end of the
same year, he went on to record a collabo with his by then school-mate Kohen Jaycee, a song titled
”came to win” which topped a number of charts across radio stations in juba.

In early 2016, Cargo released a series of songs like “Get rocking ft Kohen jaycee” “Get up whine ”, and
“Bad man” just to mention but a few.
In 2017, he collaborated with his good friend Young Bullet in a song dubbed “Touch Down” which also
topped a number of chats across Juba.
In 2018, he recorded “no cloth” with a Ugandan artist called Bubble fire. His latest songs are “halleluya”
and “if I didn’t” which were recorded in 2020 and 2021 respectively and just got released in December
2021, in these two new songs, he teamed up with his friend and brother Trizzy, a member of the RMG
music group with whom, they shall be a duo and they have a lot more on the way.
Cargo is currently based in Kampala due to studies. He is from 2016 to date signed to and a member of
RMG music crew consisting of several other professional artists like Doksy, Belovely, Trizzy, Natty kush
and Raan mark.
