Born to the late Samuel Muwanguzi and Rose Lydia Muwanguzi, Kajambiya attended Molly and Paul Busega Primary school for his nursery and Primary and then went to St. Henry’s College Kitovu (SHACK) for his O’Level, and later attended Mengo Senior School for his A’level. He then joined Makerere University where he pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering.
“Kajambiya” says that he drew inspiration for his stage name from Hebrews 4:12 which says; “The word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart”. It is from that scripture that he decided to translate sword as Kajambiya to make it sound a bit comical and catchy. His real name is Jovan Ssebaggala.
Kajambiya is a gospel reggae and ragga dancehall artist who joined the industry towards the end of 2017 but has gone on to become a household name because of his unique style and powerful lyrics.
