Lyrical Mycheal also known as LM, Africa's Boyfriend, is a multi gifted hip hop artist, song writer, producer, actor and fitness model. His musical style is Hip Hop influenced - Dance oriented afro rap with a lyrical composition that comes deep from the heart demanding a response and a call to action for people from all walks of life.
Before his music career, LM played football, representing Mulusa Academy thrice in the National Post Primary Football Championship and the Uganda Christian University in the FUFA Big League. He developed his passion for music between football practices by doing song covers and underground collaborations with friends to perform at school parties, local churches and karaoke nights.
Born out of wedlock, LM is committed to being a positive example of how to turn our trials into testimonies. He is armed with realness and a strong desire to relevantly make a difference. His music flows from many real life struggles, including overcoming the pain that comes from being a love child.
Most notably LM released high energy hits such as “Wrong Number”, “Pregnant”, ‘Gukubila’ which received extensive regular radio and TV air play and went on to top numerous urban and contemporary music charts across the country. His success not only grabbing the attention of scores of fans, but also respected deejays and the press around east and central africa.
Since 2014, he has been on successful national and international events and tours igniting stages at the Pamoja Festival in Bujumbura Burundi, Project April in Lilongwe Malawi, Jeans and T shirts in Dar es Salaam Tanzania and the Hindurwa Concert in Kigali Rwanda. The Afro Fest in Durban South Africa and Warm festival in Zimbabwe. LM has also shared stage with some of Uganda’s top musicians during the prestigious Kampala City Festivals, Nyege Nyege Festival, Robert Kayanja 77 Dogs of Glory meetings etc.
LM is an Olive Award Winner - Hip Hop Artist of the year (2014) and three time nominee for the Hip Hop artiste of the year (2015, 2016, 2017) in the Viga Music Awards. Now he is ready to take his career to the next level as a new sound to the African music canvas.
As evidence his brand has more to offer than just music, Lyrical Mycheal solidified his place as an actor for TV and Film in Uganda and founded Wuluguma Arts Foundation, a charity organisation using the power of performing arts to transform lives of gifted young people with disadvantaged backgrounds. He is also athletic and passionate about fashion and fitness. Started a cloth line “LM Apparels” and opened up a health and fitness centre called “Bych Bodys” where he gives opportunities to people of his community to live healthy and achieve their fitness goals.
