Magnum Weightt is a Ugandan Afro pop singer and songwriter born and raised in Kyamugugu, Bukuya in Mubende district, now Kassanda in central Uganda. He was born to Rev Fr Nicholas Ssembirige and Papadhia Nakate Bsbirye Betty on 25 December 1996 as Katende Emmanuel.
 
Although he got inspired by David Lutalo, he grew up listening to the late Herman Basudde whose music his father used to play frequently at home on a radio cassette player.
 
He started singing professionally in 2019 when he recording his first song titled, "embe", produced by Clinix in Mubende. He then recorded Kyannyinaze, alerting popular Ugandan actress and TV presenter, Dianah Nabatanzi about the need to acknowledge official marriage.
In 2020, he got a deal to record a campaign song for the NUP flagbearer for Kamuli district LC V chairmanship post, Basutagaine. The song titled, "Tumugheire" was produced Ken Pro at Kenneth Touch records in Mubende and mastered by Miyagi at Miyagi Records in Lubya, Kampala.
In 2020, he recorded three love songs; "Sikiwaani", "Holy matrimony", and "Tokaaba", all produced by Miyagi.
 
Magnum Weightt has written several songs for other musicians like Clinix Shafiq, Elgon Braker and Da Diva. 
 
He studied at New Academy primary school, Kkungu ku Kasaalaba, Abundant Grace Church School, Kasebwembe, Namilyango, Bukuya and Bukuya Orthodox primary school where he sat for Primary Leaving Examinations in 2010. He joined St Oikoumenios Senior Secondary  School, obtaining his Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) in 2014.
He then obtained a certificate in auto-mechanics in Ndeeba, Lubaga division in Kampala.
 
He then served as a casual worker at Food Factory, a restaurant owned by popular musician Geoffrey Lutaaya in Makindye. At Food Factory, he got a chance to perform with Geoffrey Lutaaya's band, Da New Eagles.
