Makumbi Ashraf, known professionally as “Record Elah”, was born on 13th-March-1993. He is a Ugandan Ragga/Dancehall music recording artist based in Kampala, Uganda. Makumbi grew up in the areas of makindye, a suburb in Kampala city. His mother is Mrs. Cissy Nansamba and his father is Mr. Kalungi Hassan all of Makindye, Kampala.
His mother gave birth to him when she was only 19 years old. His parents divorced when he was 5, and his father permanently abandoned the family though he is still alive.
Record Elah enrolled in Walukuba community center nursery and primary school, then to nkoyoyo boarding primary school for his primary studies and finally to Jinja secondary school for his O & A level studies. Makumbi then proceeded to Strathmore University in Nairobi, Kenya for his tertiary studies where he graduated in Music, dance & drama with a first class degree in 2013.
