Rubangakene Morris "ruby"(Ruby music) , am a born-again Christian who fellowships at Watoto church... I live in Gulu Uganda. Am a Worshiper, Multi-talented instrumentalist, Youth Worker, multi talented generally and a first born among 5 siblings.
Rubangakene is an awesome name in Acholi a tribe am proud of that means "God-Alone", with a context that God is the only one who does great and mighty things here on earth . While "Ruby" means a precious stone and this was given to me by a friend when I was in high school because I lived an exemplary life which made Jesus revealed to my peers.
I grew up and was brought up with a Christian background, serving as a Sunday school leader while even young at age 9, and also growing up with the great talent discovered, I formed a dance group consisting of my siblings and we could go minister at different churches and i was blessed to lead the team as well.
My music potential discovery came through meeting a friend of mine called Aboko John bosco aka Jaipur who challenged me through his raps and I would try hard to be better than him. With time I realised and got my own style to music and joining my high schools was able to meet a friend called RaceT and Eddy kajimu, Brian Gareth, Blaze wagaba, Torious mujuni, Daryl mwesigwa, Martha mwebembaza, Edith Aguti, and this gave me an opportunity to start up a group of singers and rappers " Generation for Jesus" and also joined two other singing groups point of grace and Gospel rhymes where I had my first recording with them "Step in the new direction" that was a hit in the whole school and part of mukono town.
"I can sing any style of music " except opera that I try a bit. Being multi-instrumentalist I played (Self taught) Drums, keyboard and Acoustic Guitar, this helped me to come up with great sounds which eventually led to song writing. Currently written about 150 songs, phone recorded about 258 songs that is well stored, and was able to record 2 of them in studio, while the rest of songs i do them live on Acoustic Guitar when given opportunity.
I have been able to use this talent not for fame search but for a purpose to reach the young people out there in the community who love excellent, clean and youthful music.
Inspiration I have drawn them from different people like Lecrae, Andy mineo, pompi, able chungu, matthew brown, Hillsong, samuel Oketch, actually the list is endless..... Who ever sings uniquely and does clean music I find inspiration in them.
I have been privileged to received Air plays of my song "Jesus you carried me"on radio stations in UK,U.S.A, and also some phone plays in actually most of the continents on this planet earth through Internet music sites. Been able to upload my performance on my YouTube channel.
I have been able to achieve and receive awards from everyone who liked the music since it spoke to their souls. And all the comments made are serious souvenirs in my heart.
Through this passion I have been able to be part of the founding members of C.N.M (Christ Nation Movement) a group consisting of different artists coming together with the same vision of reaching the teenagers as our main target, with great humility from Faith Evelyn, Ozuli, Levo, Kateka, Eddy Larem, Reach Cosmas, Eunice Lamili, Tizzy, Chri Dimas, Sam portable, Cynthia Grey and Cynthia Humble. As a team we have been able to support our young friends with their passion , so giving a hand to our teenagers group called "Team No panda" (Ivan flamez, Newman, Henry, Geoffrey, Melchior, Tony Blair, Lisa, Cathy, Mercy, Stephen, Howard) being mentored by us cnm and also written songs which some got recorded.
