Sauti Ya Africa is an all-male Pop Operatic quartet with multi-talented singers, where each member plays more than 2 instruments.
Made up of members; Ben Katamba, George Semaganda, Francis Mutesasira, Charles Dickens Awary, the group is one of those must-listen-to crooners in Uganda.
The group started up as an acapella group in 2007 with their maiden performance at the Common Wealth Heads of State Summit.
Here, they performed for various high-ranking dignitaries. They have never looked back again.
Sauti Ya Africa has a Diploma in singing performance from the Associated Board of The Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) United Kingdom.
Members also command good acting proficiency, having acted in previous Operas like Marriage of Figaro, Magic Flute, Merry wives of Windsor, and the Battered bride, Orpheus and Eurydice and Ondieki (Kenyan Opera production).
Unlike most groups, Sauti Ya Africa members have played as Soloists in Italy, Nairobi, Dar es Salaam, Kigali and Kampala.
In 2014, they were invited by the Mayor of the City of London, Dame Fiona Wolf, Lady Lynn Forester, Lady de Rothschild and The Henry Jackson Society to be one of the only two performers at the Mansion House (The Guild Hall) in London where they performed with world renowned singer OBE Katherine Jenkins, winner of several British awards.
The group has also performed and entertained different high profile fans in different places on special invitations from people like; HRH Prince Charles, Former President of Nigeria; Olusegun Obasanjo, Former President of USA; Bill Clinton, former IMF President Christine Lagarde, Governor of the Bank of England Mark Carney, OBE Tony Elumelu and over 50 presidents in the world.
In 2016, Sauti Ya Africa released its debut album titled UNITED— a 12 track studio project.
