Niwagaba Rodgers popularly known as Steifler is a hip-hop, dancehall, and Rnb artist from Kampala Uganda (Born on 15 September 1996) a Ugandan by nationality.
Starting off his career was in 2009, he started writing down songs and was part of the hip hop ground Ak Lamuel and Steifler where he wrote down fourteen songs for the group who were based in Kanungu in western Uganda.
Steifler was born to Mr. Kagarura Sedrack and Mrs. Molly Kagarura, he is a third born of five children with two elder sisters and one young brother and sister. He went to Ntugamo Parents Primary School for primary level in Butugota- Kanungu western Uganda and went to Bishop Comboni College for O’level in Kambuga- Kanungu from 2009-2012 he then went to Kabale Trinity College for Advanced level where he completed senior five and later went to Kikinzi high school in Kanungu where he completed his A ‘level in 2014. Steifler is currently pursuing a bachelor of community development and social justice at Kyambogo University. Through his stages of growth, Steifler listened to a lot of music from rappers such as Lil Wayne who is his favorite when it comes to hip-hop, Eminem, 2 Pac, notorious big, Diddy, Busta rhymes and many other artists who inspired him to start doing music and he would most times try to mimic them. When he was in senior one at Bishop Comboni College in Kambuga Kanungu in western Uganda Steifler wrote a song ‘hip-hop rhythm’ which he and Ak Lamuel preformed for the class, after the performance due to too much love of what the members had seen the class members advised him to continue his music journey and make them proud someday which he continued to chase.
In 2015, when he was pursuing a bachelor of information technology at ‘NDEJJE UNIVERSITY’ Kampala campus he met a friend ‘Enique Maney’ who advised him to start recording music for commercial use, he took him to a studio in 2017 at valley curve studios in Ntinda where he wrote and released his first single ‘WEEKEND’ which was produced by Sharp C.
Many people have described Steifler sound and style as unique and every ones favorite ‘he has his own way of rapping and his own voice which has never been heard in Uganda’s hip-hop industry, the flow makes you fall in love with the artist.’
