Livestock farmers will meet the cost of purchasing vaccine for the foot and mouth disease (FMD).

Members of Parliament on the Health Committee want the National Medical Stores-NMS to account for the Covid-19 vaccine funds allocated to them in the last two financial years.

The Ministry of Health should recall some of their least demanded COVID-19 vaccines to avoid cases of expired vaccines, the District Health Officers have advised.

The Ministry of Health has opened four vaccination sites including City Square, Old Taxi Park, Namboole Stadium and Mayor’s Garden in Entebbe in order to avoid expiry of the COVID-19 vaccines.

Government through the Ministry of health has received 647,080 Moderna vaccine doses from the US government. This becomes the eighth batch of doses received in Uganda since March this year.

A total of 175,200 doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine donated by the French government through the COVAX facility have arrived in Uganda. The vaccines arrived at Entebbe International Airport on Wednesday night aboard KLM airlines.

 A total of 144,025 Ugandans has so far received their 1 st dose of the Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine availed to Uganda under the COVAX facility and a donation by the Government of India.

At least 20,000 officers of the Uganda Police Force will receive COVID-19 vaccines in an exercise that kicked off today Wednesday at the Police Headquarters in Naguru.

Ministry of health has distributed a total of 663,520 doses of COVID-19 vaccines to all districts across the country.
