62 year old man (Suspect’s Name withheld) is in police coolers in moroto after he was captured in an attempt to marry a 13 year old girl.
According to the Mt. Moroto Regional Police Commander, DPC Richard Aruk Maruk, the young girl whose fruits are yet to ripen was rescued from the hungry looking man who wanted to feed on her “down there” like Mabirizi would call it, after promising her poor father a dowry of 20 cows.
However, police swung in action and arrested this heartless father identified as Lokut Kwadomo, his son Lochap Lokul and 11 other people who are all in custody. The victim (names withheld because she is a minor) narrates that she was lured by her brother, who lied that their mother had died, only for her to get home and find the hungry man with a sharp machete in his trousers waiting to mercilessly slaughter her.
Police was tipped off by a sympathizer and managed to storm the ceremony on time, rescuing the girl. The incident happened in Loyarikarimoe village in Nakadeli parish in Rupa Sub County Moroto district.
