The senior six candidates currently sitting their Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education examinations(UACE) were busted on Tuesday and taken to Kawempe police after pure mathematics and European History papers.

The affected pupils from St. Catherine Primary school in Kakumiro district were turned away after they arrived one hour and sixteen minutes into the Math paper on November 08.

Learners in pre-primary, primary, secondary, technical, and community polytechnic schools close for third term holidays on November 25 to February 06, 2023.

Grade One Magistrate Athanas Mukobi remanded the suspects to Kanungu government prison until November 17, on charges of forgery and uttering false academic documents.

The suspects include; Mbayo Mamba, head teacher of Namasuba Parents Primary School in Wakiso district, Chris Rutayisire, an examination distributor, and Micheal Mulindwa, a driver to a van hired by UNEB.

The UNEB scout was first isolated on Tuesday afternoon at Igayaza Health Centre III and later evacuated to Mubende Main Hospital after presenting with severe headache, general body pain, fever, and bleeding through the mouth. 

A total of 832,810 candidates are expected to sit for this year's PLE from 14,153 examination centers.

Nasasira says schools owned by private proprietors have turned education into a scheme for the theft and exploitation of Ugandans.
