Officers at Nambieso Police Post are in panic after a suspect, 44-year-old Charles Okullo, took his own life by hanging in a police cell.
According to Pamela Aguti the officer in charge of the Criminal Investigation Directorate at Apac Central Police Station, the deceased, was a resident of Ayombwor cell, Bung parish, Nambieso Sub County, and they suspect he committed suicide.
According to officers, Okullo was found sagging from the ceiling with his shirt tied around the neck during an early morning routine assessment.
Okullo had been arrested for domestic violence on Saturday after a domestic brawl with his wife.
Aguti says his body has been taken to Apac General Hospital for postmortem, while investigations into the matter are ongoing.
