Pepsi’s Sala Puleesa promotion to go digital

In its innovative and trend-setting style, Crown Beverages Limited, the bottler of PepsiCo soft drinks in Uganda, is in advanced stages of launching an online application that will allow online consumers of soda, to participate in the on-going Sala Puleesa promotion.

The application has been designed to give Pepsi, Mirinda, and Mountain Dew fans on Facebook, an opportunity to win cool prizes including; smartphones, airtime, soda, and Pepsi branded goodies, during the promotion. The three brands have a combined Facebook fan-base of up to 260,000 fans and growing.

Commenting on the innovation, Berna Kizza, the Brand manager Pepsi, said, “We are in the digital age, and our brands are trendy. It’s known fact that many of our consumers and are now online and are looking for convenient ways of interacting with our brands.” 

According to the Uganda Communications Commission, Uganda has 14.5 million internet users, up from 13.8 million last year, and a penetration of 39.8 per 100 people.

“This application will allow these consumers to directly interact with our brands in the online space and act as another avenue for us to reward and give back to Facebook fans. It will also give consumers of Crown Beverage’s quality brands a lifetime opportunity to win great prizes from our Sala Puleesa promotion,” Kizza explained.

 Crown Beverages unveiled the Sala Puleesa promotion on August 29th 2016. This promotion will see up to three million consumers of CBL soft drinks win prizes worth Shs 3 billion including; Toyota Noah vans, motorcycles, plasma  television sets, smart phones, soda, airtime and Pepsi branded goodies. Sala Puleesa is aimed at rewarding consumers of its soft drinks, and strengthening its position in the beverages industry.

To participate in the Sala Puleesa promotion, consumers should buy any of the company’s 300ml glass bottles including; Pepsi, Mountain Dew or any Mirinda, check under the crown for an instant prize or code which he or she will SMS to 8777 to enter a weekly draw to win an aspirational prize. The weekly draws will be held live on NTV, Urban TV, Bukedde and TV West every Sunday at 8.00pm and winners shall be announced.
