At total of 104,315 students are today sitting their UACE examinations at 2,076 centres across the country.

According to the UNEB time table, students were briefed on Friday November 11th 2016 at their respective centres, and the first paper of Economics started at 9am.

Addressing the press last week, UNEB Executive Secretary Mr. Daniel Odongo explained that at least 727 scouts and about 8000 invigilators have been deployed to monitor the conduct of the examinations.

UNEB spokesperson, Hamis Kaheru, called on parents and guardians to contact the respective schools to check the status of registration of their children before today’s examination begins.

UACE is the last batch of examination this year, and at the start of the examination period, Mr. Odongo gave candidates the discretion to contact him directly in cases where examination paper envelops are tampered with prior to the exams.

This year’s examinations are Mr. Odongo’s first set in his five year tenure as Executive Secretary, after the long serving Matthew Bukenya retired early this year.
