Singer Daniel Kazibwe popularly known as Ragga Dee, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) flag-bearer for Kampala Lord Mayor, has asked voters to vote him into office basing on the ideas he has to develop but not base their decision on how he looks.
The dreadlocked singer is vying to unseat Democratic Party’s reigning Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago and former Kyadondo South MP Issa Kikungwe an Independent.
However we have learnt from our sources, the NRM campaign task team...the singer is under pressure to cut off his 20 year old dreadlocks as a request from President Museveni. This comes after Saturday’s campaign where he was joined by President Yoweri Museveni as the two campaigned in Rubaga.
For years the veteran singing star has always maintained a dreadlocked look which has become his main trademark. But with pressure mounting, we may see the singer lose his favourite hair style.
It should be noted, that time and again the singer has rallied Kampala voters and fellow artistes to support his bid for mayorship, saying he wants transform the city to a level of other developed cities he has visited before. But many look at him as unsuitable candidate to take over due to his looks and lifestyle.
