Muhereza Kyamutetera, the coordinator of the “Save Carol Campaign” yesteday literally cried on social media claiming the Ministry of Health- Uganda was sabotaging Atuhirwe Carol's US travel to seek medical treatment on her cancer case. In his words

#SaveCarol UPDATES: Many of you have been asking why isn't Atuhirwe Carol gone for treatment, now that we have the money needed? Apparently the Medical Board in Mulago is taking time to give us the referral needed to the US, which we will then use to secure a medical visa and subsequently fly out. The latest we know is that they said they will sit on Tuesday to decide our case!!! I do not wish to interfere with the medical profession, but I know every minute is critical in saving Carol. Once again I urge all of us Ugandans to rise up again and show Mulago how angry we can get. We need our Carol airborne like yesterday. Tweet and share #Cry4Carol
However ministry came out on social media with this statement.

The Ministry wishes to dismiss false rumors spread about the sector on #SaveCarol campaign. We are not withholding any supporting documents that are stopping Carol from flying for treatment.
The Medical council board sits on Tuesday and all documents will be finalized for her immediate departure for treatment.
Meanwhile, one concerned citizen had this to say,
But, why must the medical council board sit on Tuesday as if Carol's problem can also sit upto Tuesday? Where is your sense of emergency, MoH? It's this sort of bureaucratic red-tape that sees many patients die senselessly. And you even have the guts of issuing such a statement with indifference. How callous can some people be? How cold! How inhumane!
