Singer Kusasira Catherine and Iryn Namubiru for a long time have not been Seeing Eye to eye. Kusasira event slept in prison because of their misunderstandings. Namubiru was being accused of releasing ‘Anjagala’, a song written by songwriter, Lyto Boss without authorization. In her defence, Namubiru pleaded that she had paid Lyto Boss through Kusasira.
After some time, Kusasira discovered that she would not win a court battle as it emerged that Namubiru had substantial evidence and a witness that confirmed that she (Kusasira) had been paid for the song on the behalf of Lyto Boss. Namubiru later demanded a public apology from Kusasira for wrongfully accusing and shaming her but Kusasira didn’t do it.
Kusasira went back to court claiming there was injustice during her case and last week, the judge again ruled in favour of Kusasira. Namubiru was ordered to pay all the damages and costs she incurred during the case.
The few court papers we have seen shows that Iryn will have to part with 30m in total for all the damages. Iryn couldn’t respond to the second court ruling as she was busy in the studio by press time.
It is alleged that Iryn and Kusasira’s beef is over a man. They have both worked with Captain Kassami of waterfront beach in Entebbe. It is alleged that Kassami dated Namubiru and later Kusasira.
