The latest information is that Monitor Publications general manager, Richard Senkwale has stepped down and handed his office to the top management.

This happened last Friday after along heated up meeting between him and board members. Senkwale has been with Daily Monitor for some time. A few months back, he laid out his new plans of revamping the newspaper and company at large. He has been fighting for the newspaper to go digital in order to survive in this era of digitalization.

Reliable sources at Namuwongo based media house revealed to us that Senkwale’s resignation was unexpected and everyone was surprised by why he decided to quit.

Other sources say that Senkwale had several enemies at Monitor who had vowed not to settle down until he leaves the company.

It is also alleged that he recruited family members and promoted them at work. This didn’t go well with some managers.
