Vocalist Naava Grey doesn't subscribe to a polygamous family after what she went through while growing up in one. She had a difficult upbringing, she can not wish her children to be raised by a polygamous man.

The musician says she was forced to look out for a father figure at a very early age. She ended up with a boyfriend who impregnated her at just 18 years of age.

"My father had more than one wife and it was hard,  we didn't get father's love. When I began dating, I thought I was getting a boyfriend yet in a real sense I missed a father to guide me and that's how I got pregnant between the age of 18 and 19years," she explains in an interview with a local YouTuber.

Naava Grey is ranked high as one of Uganda’s most soulful vocalists. She broke onto the scene through the Tusker fame project and went on to release an album in 2011.
