Musician Rema Namakula has disclosed that she was never extended an invitation to join the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UMNF), making her ineligible for membership.

Furthermore, Rema expressed her dissatisfaction with the federation's objectives, leading her to lose faith in its potential. She is now observing the federation's efforts to improve the livelihoods of musicians before deciding on her involvement.

"I wasn't invited, so I am not a member. I will consider joining only after comprehending their motives and objectives. At the moment, I am refraining from it," she responded when questioned about her UMNF membership status.

Despite this, Rema remains an advocate for Ugandan musicians leveraging all available avenues to champion copyright legislation.
