Politics holds a prominent place in the lives of many Ugandans, including musicians. However, Maurice Kiirya advocates for musicians and their supporters to steer clear of identity politics.
Kiirya argues that individuals shouldn't be defined by their political affiliations. He believes politics should focus on uniting people rather than dividing them.
"I wear yellow and red socks because I want these colors to bring us together. Everyone has the right to support a political party of their choice, but our focus should be on unity for all Ugandans," he conveyed in an interview with a local YouTuber.
The singer clarifies that he does not align himself with any political party.
