Pastor Aloysius Bugingo of House of Prayer Ministries has shared his reflections on the tragic shooting that took the life of his close friend, Muhumuza Richard, several months ago. The incident occurred while Richard was driving Pastor Bugingo home; they were ambushed by unknown assailants who opened fire on their vehicle.
Pastor Bugingo himself was injured in the attack, sustaining bullet wounds to his back, but Richard tragically died at the scene.
During a recent sermon at his church, Pastor Bugingo expressed his gratitude for surviving the attack and offered his perspective on why he was spared while his friend was not. He believes that God had a purpose in allowing him to live, citing his continued mission to spread the word of God.
He also emphasized his commitment to supporting Richard's family, stating that he is providing for them and that his friend would not have been able to do the same for his family had the roles been reversed. Pastor Bugingo suggested that God foresaw this and that it played a role in the outcome of the attack.
"I am so grateful," Pastor Bugingo said. "God knows why He took Richard and left me. He knew that Richard's family will be cared for, though they will deeply miss their father. He also knew that I would continue preaching His word, which still needs to reach so many people."
