Musician Keko is one of the most celebrated Ugandan rappers, and her influence continues to resonate even in her absence.
Keko, who is back in the country after a long stay in Canada, revealed that she started her music career at university after being introduced to a producer by a friend.
The producer introduced her to music by sharing beats, which sparked her passion and launched her career.
"At university, I met a friend I had studied with at Maryhill, who introduced me to a producer. He gave me some beats, and that's when I started my music career," she explained in an interview with a local television station.
Keko also credited Swangz Avenue's Benon as her musical mentor and expressed gratitude to Rocky Giant for giving her her first collaboration.
"My first big song and collaboration was with Rocky Giant. I later released another song called Maisha, and others followed. Benon from Swangz Avenue was one of my mentors, and I have so much respect for him," she added.
