Musician and medical doctor Quex is famous for his only hit, "Kacumbali," which topped charts across borders.
The singer now says he wants to focus more on public health and sensitise people about different diseases in societies.
Quex explained that because he has a large following in communities, he can use it to their advantage by reaching out to them to promote better health and improve their living standards.
"I want to focus more on public health. I have the numbers and I want to help people and reach out to them in communities to sensitise them to live healthier lives," he explained in an interview with a local television station.
Quex, however, says he is not giving up on music despite his busy schedule with health matters. He will continue releasing music for his fans.
