Nakawa Magistrates’ Court yesterday committed Mr Ivan Kamyuka, the main suspect in the killing of a Guvnor Nightclub patron, Ahimbisibwe, last month on August 2, to the High Court to stand trial.
Mr Kamyuka was presented before Grade One Magistrate Ms Christine Nantege yesterday, who was informed by state prosecutor Ms Joyce Anyango who informed Court that the Director of Public Prosecutions’ investigation into the suspect’s case is complete.
Ms Anyango further told court that the State has enough evidence including Mr Kamyuka’s charge and caution statement he made at police admitting that in a confrontation with the deceased John Ahimbisibwe, alias Jonnie, he injured him.
Magistrate Nantege ordered prosecution to furnish the defence with all required documents and evidence to be used at the trial to enable them make preparation to represent their client effectively.
Mr Kamyuka has been returned to Luzira prison as he awaits to stand trial.
