Troubled widow to Eriya Bugembe Sebunya alias Kasiwukira, Ms Sarah Nabikolo has been let loose again after she was arrested attempting to sneak into Kenya on Tuesday.
Barely a fortnight ago, Nabikolo was acquitted of murdering her husband Kasiwukira and let loose. She however attempted to leave the country without proper documentation.
She was arrested at Busia border trying to bribe a customs officer in an attempt to sneak into Kenya. She had also refused to hand over her passport, despite having it in her bag.
Nabikolo was arrested and transferred back to Kampala, only to be released on Thursday from the police Special Investigations Unit (SIU) in Kireka on police bond.
She had been detained on charges of falsification of identity, concealment of travel documents. The police is said to be considering opening fresh charges in connection with her husband Kasiwukira’s death.
Felix Andrew Kaweesi the police spokesperson confirmed her detention but was released on bond though declined to divulge further details.
Ms Nabokolo was acquitted by the High Court on October 12th of the murder of her husband Kasiwukira.
The DPP has since appealed against the acquittal.
