A Police constable attached to the Counter Terrorism Unit John Bosco Monday, has been charged with murder after appearing in court for shooting dead a student of Rock High school and injured another person in Kabale.

The killer cop appeared the Kabale Grade One Magistrate, Raphael Vueni on Monday where he was charged with one count of murder and attempted murder.

The Magistrate didn't allow the accused to enter any plea since the court lacks jurisdiction on capital offenses and remanded him to Ndorwa Government prisons until November 14th when his matter will come up for mention.

Monday is wanted for shooting to death 15-year-old Ronald Taremwa and injuring 26-year-old Medard Tukwasibwe, both residents of Mutojo cell in Bushuro in Kitumba Sub County in Kabale district.

The incident occurred over the weekend opposite Voice of Kigezi building in Kigongi, Central division in Kabale Municipality shortly after the suspect knocked a boda boda cyclist pitting him against residents.

Residents demanded that the constable repairs the damaged motorcycle but he decided to go for his gun and opened fire killing the teenager and injuring Tukwasibwe who were not part of the scuffle.

The late Ronald Taremwa was laid to rest on Monday. Moses Byabagye, the Officer in Charge of the Criminal Intelligence and Investigations department in Kigezi Region told mourners they have concluded their investigations, adding that Justice will take its course.

Denis Namuwoza, the Kigezi Region Police Commander paid Shillings 5 million in condolence on behalf of the Uganda Police Force.
