Police Rukungiri is hunting for unknown assailants who murdered two private security guards on Sunday night.
The guards are; 27-year-old Brian Tumubwaine, attached to Security 2000 and 29-year-old Fred Rutarindwa, a resident of Ntungamo and Rukungiri districts respectively.
According to police, the duo was killed while on guard duty at the premises of Compassion International in Bugangari Sub County. Mohammed Kakesa, a resident of the area, says they found the lifeless bodies of the deceased lying in a pool of blood this morning.
Kakesa explains that although the assailants broke into the Compassion International offices, they didn't make away anything.
However, Ely Maate, the Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson, says the assailants left behind a MK4 gun no. 32088 belonging to Tumubwaine.
Maate adds that police handed over the deceased's bodies to Nyakibale Hospital for postmortem as investigations into the attack are ongoing.
