Uganda Police is investigating circumstances under which a British National died in Kabale, South western Uganda on Saturday April 7th 2018.

Addressing the weekly press briefing in Kampala this morning, Patrick Onyango, the Deputy Police spokesperson identified the deceased as Mukesha Shukla.

Shukla was part of a group of five Indians of British origin who crossed Lake Bunyonyi to Butanda Subcounty, to track the Batwa tribe.

“As they climbed the hills to get a clear view, Shukla fell down, collapsed and died” Onyango said.

He added that the four colleagues he was travelling with then transported the body back across Lake Bunyonyi to Kabale hospital mortuary, after police visiting the scene.

Onyango says postmortem was carried out by the police surgeon, but was unable to reveal the results.
