The Uganda Peoples defence forces has in custody two of own in connection to the shooting at Karuma power dam construction site, which claimed the life of Ronald Kizito, the security inspector of the site.
Kizito was hit by a stray bullet on Monday morning after UPDF soldiers opened fire in an attempt to arrest some workers accused of stealing material from the site.
According to Major Telesphor Turyamumanya, the 4th Division Army spokesperson based in Gulu town, the army has locked up two soldiers who were manning the check point at Karuma Trading Centre for questioning in connection to the incident.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine Region police spokesperson, said on Tuesday that they were hunting for the soldiers. At least 20 casual workers who were arrested in connection to the scuffle that led to shooting are still in custody at Kiryandongo Police Station to help with investigations.
