Three suspected armed robbers believed to be behind the attack on the home of Robert Walika, a Jinja based businessman are in custody after being apprehended by the police Flying Squad Unit operatives. 
 
Police has withheld the suspects’ identities in order not to jeopardize the investigation. They were picked up during an operation by Flying Squad Unit operatives on Thursday. 
 
According to Vincent Irama, the Commander Jinja Central Police Station, the trio is suspected to have been part of the gang that raided surrounded Walika's home in Walukuba east village in Jinja Municipality on Sunday night and opened fire while demanding for money.
 
Luckily, a security guard deployed at the home shot back hitting one of the suspects identified as Sinani Muwanika who is currently nursing a gunshot wound at Jinja Regional Referral Hospital.
 
Muwanika upon interrogation disclosed his accomplices leading to the operation to pick them up. According to Irama, police is yet to recover the firearm used by the suspects.
“Investigations are continuing and they will be arraigned in court. The firearm they used is not yet recovered, but we are still interrogating them” Irama said.
