Police has discovered the body of Barbara Zalwango, an employee of the Unite Bank of Africa who went missing on Sunday. Her body was found in a garden in Katwe village, Nakisinga Soub County in Mukono district.
Zalwango was announced missing on Monday when her husband John Francis Kajumba failed to trace her whereabouts for at least 15 hours. Kajumba filed a missing person’s report at the Central police station in Kampala on that same day.
According to the deceased’s husband, he could neither find her physically nor was she picking her phones. Pictures of the 37 year old Barbara made rounds on social media with relatives and friends calling for help to find her, in vain.
Information received by police indicates that the deceased was last seen with her sister only identified as Harriet at Shoprite Clock tower at around 6PM on the fateful evening. The duo however parted ways later.
Police has taken her body to Kawoolo hospital mortuary for a postmortem. She was a resident of Entebbe, Wakiso District.
Cases of women and children disappearing and being found dead are not new in Mukono, Wakiso and Kampala.
