Residents of Kisoga in Ntenjeru town council in Mukono district can now sleep soundly at night after Police decided to step up security after a series of attacks on residents that left three people dead.
In the last two weeks alone, three residents have been stabbed to death and four others injured by some unknown assailants who are getting away with these murders.
According to police files on the murders, the attackers didn't take anything from their victims. The latest attack is on a seven months expectant mother and resident of Bugolombe village identified as Brenda Nabukenya.
According to the victim, assailants stabbed her near private parts three days ago, and she is currently nursing wounds at Kojja health center 3 in Ntenjeru town council.
Police has 21 suspects are in custody in connection to the attacks. This forced police and local leaders to convene a meeting at Ntenjeru town council headquarters on Tuesday, with the aim of chatting measures of dealing with the attacks.
The Ntenjeru Town council LC 3 chairperson, Hudson Kiyaga chaired the meeting which was also attended by Michael Musana, the Kampala East Metropolitan Region Police Commander and Fred Bamwine, the newly appointed Mukono Resident District Commissioner.
Musana assured the residents of security that will be provided by Police, asking them to cooperate with the force to stop the attacks.
Residents were also encouraged to form village security committees to conduct joint foot patrols with police during the night, while additional personnel have been deployed to conduct both day and night patrols in Ntenjeru town council.
RDC Fred Bamwine, also urged Officers in charge of police posts in the areas to up their game if they still want to keep their jobs.
