The police in Sironko district are hunting for a 27-year-old man who allegedly killed his father over UGX 6, 000 that he owed him.
Rogers Taitika, the Elgon Region Police Spokesperson identified the suspect as Alex Zesiro, a peasant and resident of Bunakobe village, Bufaka parish, Bumasifwa Sub- County in Sironko District.
Zesiro allegedly murdered his father identified as James Woyaga 53, a resident of the same area following a disagreement over money. The suspect fled the scene after the incident.
According to Taitika, the suspect demanded that his father pays back Shillings 6,000 Shillings he borrowed from him some days back in vain. A very angry Zesiro then jumped and kicked his father in the stomach as he landed various blows and killed him in the process.
Police has dispatched detectives from the Criminal Investigations Department to investigate the matter. Meanwhile, the deceased’s body has been taken to Mbale municipal mortuary for postmortem
