The Police in Kasese District are investigating circumstances under which an expectant mother was killed and her body ended up in a trench in Kighuthu Village in Nyakiyumbu Sub County.
The Kighuthu Village LC I Chairperson Yusuf Ndema, identified the deceased as 18-year-old Jones Kimbwembwe, wife to Thomas Mumbere, a resident Kighuthu Village in Muhindi Parish.
The chairman says he received information about the deceased’s death around 11am on Thursday morning and immediately notified police who rushed to the scene and retrieved Kimbwembwe’s body and took it to Bwera General Hospital for postmortem.
John Kimbwembwe the deceased’s father says his daughter had just spent about four months in marriage and that she could have been a victim of domestic violence. The police officers who picked the body declined to comment about the incident.
