A man in Ibanda is on the run after beheading his grandmother over land.
The police in Ibanda have launched a manhunt for James Asiimwe who is wanted for beheading his grandmother, 71-year-old Kelemensia Kadiidi, a resident of Rwengwe II in Kikyenkye Sub County Ibanda District.
According to Samson Kasasira the Rwizi Region Police Spokesperson, neighbors found Kadiidi’s torso lying in a pool of blood. He added that preliminary police investigations show that Kadiidi met her brutal death on Wednesday night, a day after Asiimwe was released on police bond.
The Rwengwe II Village LC I Chairperson Felix Tumuhairwe says the suspect has been feuding with the deceased to give him his share of land. The deceased’s head was recovered from the residence of Asiimwe’s aunt identified as Jackline Azairwe.
Azairwe was also picked up to help police investigations. Emily Angomoku, the Ibanda District Police Commander urged residents to help them trace for the suspect.
