Police in Kabale is hunting for unknown assailant(s) who murdered a 27-year-old man and stole his motorcycle.
Ip Elly Maate the PRO Kigezi identifies the deceased as Peter Nyakire a Boda Boda rider, and resident of Kashaki cell, Muyanje parish, Bubaare sub-county, Rubanda district.
The deceased has been a Boda Boda rider, parking at Rugarama hospital Boda Boda stage.
It is alleged that Nyakire was last seen on Wednesday 2/3/2022 at around 1930hrs, at the said stage by friends with his motorcycle reg. no. UFE 701T bajaj boxer red in colour.
However, his family was shocked when he did not return home until today morning at about 0700hrs when he was discovered dead at Nyangande cell, Mwanjari ward, southern division, Kabale municipality.
His body had injuries on the head, with blood still oozing out. The suspected killer weapon, a hammer was found under his head.
Nyakire’s motorcycle is suspected to have been stolen by the assailant(s) as it was not found at the scene.
The case was reported to Kabale CPS and a team of homicide officers visited the scene recorded statements from the witnesses.
The body has been conveyed to Kabale referral hospital mortuary for postmortem.
