Dorothy Nabulime, the woman who tortured her two-year-old child was on Tuesday arraigned in court and charged with assault and cruel, inhumane and degrading treatment. 

Nabulime pleaded guilty to the charges and was remanded at Butuntumula Prison.

The presiding Magistrate John Paul Oguya adjourned court until September 13 when she's expected to return for probable sentencing.

The  22-year-old mother of three and a resident of Busula A zone in Busula trading center in Luwero district was convicted of aggravated torture on Tuesday after she pleaded guilty.

Nabulime was arrested on Saturday, September 3rd, 2022 after a video clip went viral showing the mother of 3 beating her second-born child.

Nabulime is seen in the video beating the kid with a sandal before she fell down to the ground from a basin while taking a bath. Nabulime beats the child several times while ordering her to climb back into the basin.

The video was recorded by a concerned resident who shared it on social media. It is reported that it is not the first time Nabulime has beaten up this child.

She was first arrested at Busula Police Post, before being transferred to Luwero Central Police Station.
