An angry mob has lynched a security Guard following the shooting of a civilian in Kapchorwa district.
The deceased guard has been identified as Ben Wandera, 31, a security guard attached to Star-React Security Company Limited. Wandera was beaten by an angry mob after shooting Emmanual Chemutai 21, a resident of Cheburbei village, Kapkwata Parish, Kween District.
Eyewitnesses say the deceased picked a gun and shot Chemutai in the right arm, after a quarrel that resulted from an unclear argument.
According to Fredmark Chesang the Sipi regional spokesperson, the incident happened in central division of Kapchorwa municipality on October 16, at 5:45pm.
Chesang says after shooting his friend, the guard to the police barracks where he was stoned to death.
“By the time police intervened, they found that Wandera was already dead,” said Chesang.
The deceased’s body is currently at Kapchorwa Hospital mortuary while his victim is receiving treatment in Kapchorwa Hospital, undergoing treatment.
